From Korea with Love

11

Today my friend AV showed me what happens sometimes when movies come to America. The question is "Did we ask for such a conversion of the cover, or was it assumed that the original wouldn't sell here?" I think the answer is yes to both.

I'm pretty sure our culture supports such images that we basically did ask for it. But I also think that the US cover will draw more attention and therefor more sales to people who wouldn't normally touch an asian crime drama. I'm not saying either is right, but I am not surprised one bit.

Zoom Quilt

9

Ran across this one on Milk and Cookies. This is a collaborative art project... that's about all I know about it. I can't find much info on their site. What I do know is that's it's incredibly cool. It took me a long time before I rally realized what was going on.

Please, take a look via this link (uses flash).

Apple inspired by Disney

3

A little while back, Dark Rage and I were watching Flight of the Navigator. Now, Rage noticed something: this symbol on the floor of the ship bears a striking resemblance to Apple's FireWire logo. Is this coincidence or did Apple designers watch a lot of Disney movies before they saw that one gem they needed to use for a logo design? So far Apple hasn't responded to my e-mails so we may never know!

Japan is fun

4

So apparently there's no drugs in Japan. Or so the lady says. Japan was absolutely amazing and I'm still recovering from the trip. The pictures are now available in the galleries section. Keep in mind this gallery was made using iPhoto, so it's not the fanciest gallery, but it works. So enjoy!

I got bored a little while ago…

1

So this is actually kind old. I'm slowly learning Flash, and I emphasize slowly. A few weeks ago I came up with this ninja. It doesn't do much, but I think it's cool. There is talk he will star in a comic or flash series entitled "Ninja and Giant Robot." But who knows if that will ever get off the ground?
